01A timeline, from one review
Nancy Saxton-Mattie had water coming through the base of the foundation into a finished basement. She sent a message late on a Friday night; by Saturday lunchtime Bob had called. That Monday, Bob and Kurt were at the house to evaluate the foundation French drain issues and make recommendations, and by Monday evening she had an estimate in hand — a very reasonable one, she says. They put her on the calendar a few weeks out, and Bob called a few days before the dig to say when the equipment would be dropped off. They worked around early-spring weather, and after the job Bob called to check in — and to say it had come in under the estimate.
First, B&K Excavating is as their name depicts, an excavating and digging company. We had water coming through the base of the foundation into our finished basement. I contacted them through their webpage messaging system late on a Friday night and by Saturday lunchtime, Bob had called me. That Monday, Bob and Kurt were at our house to evaluate the foundation french drain issues and make their recommendations. By Monday evening we had an estimate in hand. The estimate was very reasonable (a coworker of mine can also speak to their pricing to be fair). They put us on their calendar for a few weeks later. Bob called a few days before the dig to let us know when equipment would be dropped off and work would begin. Bob and Kurt very efficiently worked around the weather that comes in early spring and got the job done. Bob contacted us after the job was complete to check in and give us the good news that the job came in under the estimate. Both gentlemen are polite, professional and prompt. I truly enjoyed speaking with and working with both of them. If you need any digging done, call B&K Excavating!
02Water off the mountain
Craig Miller's problem was water running off the mountain. B&K put a culvert drain under the driveway and a drainage ditch down its side; the whole job was done in a day. Amarao had ditches dug down the driveway, culverts added and the land graded around a workshop, with the options explained along the way.
B&K installed a culvert drain under our driveway and a drainage ditch down the side of the driveway to solve a problem with water running off the mountain. They gave a good quote, worked with me throught the project, and made sure I was satisfied before they packed up and left. All totaled, the job was done in a day and I am very pleased with it. B&K are professional and will work to make sure you get what you want. I highly recommend them.
03Roof water, cisterns and checking back
Bill Harrington had an old cistern cleared and filled and pipes installed to route roof rain water underground, away from the house — and says he'd never been asked so many times whether he was pleased. After redoing susan snyder's driveway, the crew came back during an extended rainy period just to check the drainage.
Bob & Kurt were great to work with. We had them clear and fill an old cistern and install pipes to route our roof rain water underground and away from our home. I've never been asked so many times whether I was well pleased throughout the entire job process. They did a great job at a fair price, were extremely pleasant and professional. What more could anyone ask?
What to have ready
- Where the water shows up, and when (heavy rain, snowmelt, all the time)
- Photos taken during or right after rain, if you can
- Where the downspouts and driveway runoff go now
- The road and town
